What makes First Choice Dental different from other dentists?
Many things, but primarily Comfort. Complete Care. And Convenience. In fact, no other Madison area dentist has as many Locations to serve you, right in your own neighborhood, without making you feel like you’re visiting a big corporate building. We’re your neighborhood dentist, owned and operated by folks who live, work and raise our families right here in your backyard. In fact, the highest compliment we receive is, “I didn’t know you had more than just my location.” Because it helps us know we’re maintaining that neighborhood dentist feel. We’re “big enough to trust, but small enough to care”. We make the most advanced, comfort-conscious™ technologies and care techniques available to you, in a small, neighborhood office with a team of people you can trust to know you and care for you. And for Complete Care, you can rest assured that our expertly trained dental healthcare professionals are up on the latest oral health trends and are watching out for your oral wellness and your overall health. Because you’re not truly healthy, unless your smile’s healthy. For more about what makes us different and why you should choose us, check out Why Choose Us?

Is First Choice Dental Committed to Early Detection and Prevention?
We’re confident that you won’t find a Madison area dentist who is more committed than we are to early detection and prevention of oral health issues, and your overall dental wellness. We'll admit this approach isn't always popular with patients, especially if we're sharing information that a patient doesn't want to hear, or has trouble believing because they aren't yet feeling pain. But we wouldn’t do dentistry any other way, because this is what’s right for you as our patient. Hearing that you have a cavity or two is alarming if this is the first time you've heard that. And the reason may be because you'd never before been cared for by a dentist who’s as committed as we are to advanced early detection technology and techniques. Patient education is a key part of the work we do here. We want you to be cared for early on and to help you prevent problems. Treatment of dental health issues early on is critical in delivering the long-term health of your smile and your body. At First Choice Dental, we approach every patient relationship as a lifelong investment in that patient's health. We call this lifetime treatment planning. It involves attending to acute dental health needs, as well as planning for treatment that we can tell may need attention down the road. Our patients find that this helps them see their smile the way we do, as an essential investment in their overall health.
How soon can I get a dental appointment?
In most of our locations, you can typically be seen for your first appointment within the next two weeks, or sooner. We do our best to accommodate new patients quickly because often, it’s been some time since your last visit and we want to care for you quickly. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, we do our very best to get you in today at the First Choice Dental location of your choice or one nearby. And we work with you to schedule and plan your next appointment before you leave our office, so both you and we can plan a time that’s convenient and easy for you.
How much will my dental treatment cost?
This depends largely on your oral health needs and treatment, as well as your insurance coverage. You can call our Locations anytime and provide the information needed so that we can provide you with a general idea of some cost considerations. However, like any medical professional, an exam is typically necessary in order to provide you with an accurate treatment plan and related cost estimates.
Do you take my dental insurance?
Given that we’re in network with many major dental insurance companies, chances are we do. You'll find detailed insurance information here. We are preferred providers for Cigna Radius Network, Humana, Anthem, Ameritas, Principal, Guardian DentalGuard PPO and the Dental Health Alliance (which includes Assurant PPO and Aetna PPO plans) and premier providers for Delta Dental, as well as preferred providers for MetLife and United Healthcare, which is also referred to as UHC. If your dental plan is not part of one of these networks you can still utilize our services. Most dental plans will allow you to seek dental care outside of their network and many do not reduce your benefit level for doing so. For your conveninence, our staff can advise you about your dental benefit plan and your ability to seek out of network dental care. We expedite our claims filing process by submitting claims electronically when an insurance company accepts this format. Additionally, we provide follow-up replies and documentation to your insurance company electronically if they are able to accept them.
Will you send me a dental appointment reminder?
We all need reminders, don’t we? Busy lives require easy-to-remember help tools. We will send text or email reminders based on your preference for upcoming appointments. We’ll also drop you a quick call to confirm upcoming appointments. And if it’s been awhile since we’ve seen you, we’ll also drop you a postcard to let you know it’s time to schedule your next visit.
What are your dental office hours?
Most of our Madison area locations are open Mondays – Thursdays from 7am-5pm and Fridays from 7am-4pm. For specific office hours at your preferred location, visit our Locations information on this website.
How do you handle fees and payment for dental healthcare?
For your convenience, we offer a number of options for payment. Fees are due at the time of service for most general dental services. The co-payment you’re responsible for can be paid in full with cash, check, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) at the time of your appointment. We offer a bookkeeping courtesy of 5% for payment in full by cash or check at the time your treatment plan is scheduled. We also make available no interest or extended payment (up to 48 months) plans through Care Credit or Wells Fargo. Dental treatment is an excellent investment in your physical and psychological well-being. We are dedicated to helping you keep your smile healthy and beautiful for a lifetime. We’ll help in every way possible to make the most exceptional dentistry affordable.
To help you avoid surprises, we will explain all dental procedures and associated fees clearly and professionally before we begin treatment. It is our policy to make definite financial arrangements with patients before treatment begins. We can discuss these options with you at your first visit.
