Dr. June Huth Mello is a Verona dentist caring for patients of all ages at our Verona dental office at the corner of Highway M (Main Street) and Cross Country Road, across from Badger Ridge Middle School.
Dr. Mello graduated with honors from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1988. She was the recipient of several prestigious awards during her professional training including the following: American College of Dentists Award, Pierre Fauchard Academy Undergraduate Certificate of Merit, American Academy of Radiology Award, Dentsply Student Clinician’s Award, Outstanding Scholar Award, Dean’s Leadership Award, as well as, induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (Honorary Dental Fraternity).
Before joining First Choice Dental as a dentist in Verona, Dr. Mello (formerly Dr. Bockenstedt) practiced in numerous dental settings. She has previously maintained her own solo private practice, provided dental care for other local dental offices, and treated the underserved populations of the Dane County Jail and Badger Prairie Health Care Center.
Although Dr. Mello welcomes all ages and types of patients; she finds the elderly and special needs / phobic patient most gratifying to care for. Even the latter group can be served with comprehensive treatment to achieve healthy, vibrant smiles by using sedation dentistry. Dr. Mello has completed additional training in this area so that more patients can be comfortably treated. In her 20-plus years of experience, Dr. Mello continues to provide quality, state-of-the-art dental care for all patients. Dr. Mello is a member of the American Dental Association which includes the Wisconsin Dental Association and Dane County Dental Society. She received the prestigious distinction of “Fellow” in the Academy of General Dentistry. The fellowship award is only attained after passing a rigorous exam covering all facets of dentistry and after completion of more than 500 continuing education credits.
When Dr. Mello is not practicing dentistry, she resides in Middleton with her husband, Gerry, and six children whose ages span from elementary school to college. She and her husband follow their children’s many activities: soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, piano, dance and school functions. With such a busy household, Dr. Mello also enjoys her quiet time reading, baking or gardening.
